Boracay / Philippinen
Level: 1
4 1/2 Stunden
Erwachsene ab 172€ / Kinder ab 143€

OVERVIEW

Enjoy the serenity and relative seclusion of Ilig-Iligan Beach, which lies in the shadow of the Belmont Hotel Boracay, your home base for the next few hours. Travel to the beach by van and see that it rims the island’s quieter, less crowded northeastern coast, making it the ideal location for those that prefer a more relaxed pace. Renowned for its fine sand, crystal-clear water and backdrop of emerald-green hills, the beach couldn’t be more blissful. Imagine the perfect tropical beach setting and Ilig-Iligan has all the elements. The typically calm turquoise sea deepens gradually, which invites wading and swimming. Unlike other beaches on Boracay, it isn’t lined with hotel after hotel. Even the Belmont is a bit off the beach – within easy reach, but not obtrusive. High tea will be served there to make the day even more memorable.

Motag Living Museum
Boracay / Philippinen
Level: 1
3 Stunden
Erwachsene ab 143€ / Kinder ab 124€

OVERVIEW

Cruise across the narrow strait that separates Boracay from Panay Island and explore the Motag Living Museum, a traditional farming community where life has changed little over the centuries. The beauty of Motag is that you can not only watch demonstrations of time-honored practices, but also participate in them, if you wish. As you wander about the farm area, you might try your hand at plowing, breaking up the soil with a harrow and planting crops such as rice. If you are more interested in cooking techniques, you will likely see villagers grinding the rice into powder using a long wooden pestle and a stone mortar. You may see how herbs are used, how water is fetched from the communal well and how palm leaves are woven into hammocks, mats and roofing materials. This is intended to be an interactive experience, so feel free to join the children as they play traditional Filipino games.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Visit a heritage village and living museum where traditional ways are practiced.
• Watch fascinating farming, cooking and weaving demonstrations.
• Join in any of the activities as the villagers welcome your participation.
• Cruise roundtrip across the Tabon Strait that separates Boracay from Panay Island.

HELPFUL HINTS

• Dress in weather-appropriate clothing with a swimsuit underneath.
