Scenic Drive, Lumbarda Village, Bire Winery Visit
Continue your tour with a short scenic drive to the Village of Lumbarda. In this rural village, family Milina - Bire exists for centuries. While in past they produced wine for their house needs, half a century ago they decided to use the knowledge they gathered throughout the years of grape and vine production and they started their own small winery. Now they have completely automatic systems for wine production, while they still try to keep part of the old fashioned way of wine production. Upon arrival see the wine production venue and learn how the wine is produced nowadays, before continuing to the intriguing wine cellar nicely decorated with the wine production tools used in past. Here your host, the owner of the vinery will tell you a story about wine production and history of the family Bire producing wines in village of Lumbarda.
Wine Tasting & Local Snacks
Afterwards, taste some of the most delicious products such as home-made goat cheese, salted fish salad, olives and of course excellent local wines. Although the islanders have always led a very simple life and have eaten simple food, a varied and tasty cuisine nevertheless developed here. It was adapted both to their economic possibilities and to the foodstuffs that were available. Vegetables and fruit were grown in the sparse island soil, and both were important in everyday nutrition. More select and expensive traditional foods were prepared for holidays or special family events, what is more, there were rules about when certain kinds of food that was to be served. Homemade olive oil is used for cooking. Since there is a lot of wine, the island population uses it not only as a drink but also as a condiment. The homemade lozovaca brandy is improved by the addition of various aromatic herbs: aniseed, rose petals and the like. Many kinds of aperitifs and sweet liqueurs are prepared in this way.

The sixth largest island in Croatia, Korcula is 20 miles long and rather narrow, between 4 and 5 miles wide on average. This island is known for its dense forest and the ancient Greeks called the island Black Korcula (Kerkyra melaina) for this reason. This family boutique winery in Smokvica produces wines from indigenous grape varieties such as Posip, Rukatac and Plavac. The winery was named after the "Toreta" - field stone shelter that can still be found in some parts of Smokvica. This wine tasting will be enriched with a collection of equipment used by many family generations during the wine production.

Boat Ride, Orebic Walking tour
Board your boat for a short transfer to the small town of Oberic, located on the southern coast of the Peljesac Peninsula. Over the years, Orebic belonged to the Republic of Dubrovnik, as its westernmost settlement and became known as a place for sailors and captains. Long tradition of civilization in the area dates back in the late 16th century, when the area began to be settled by marine merchants and rich families of the Dubrovnik Republic. By the 17th century Oberic was the most important center of Dubrovnik merchant navy.
Peljesac Peninsula, Scenic Drive, Town of Ston
Afterwards, enjoy a scenic drive along the Peljesac Peninsula toward a town of Ston. Ston was built according to the plans approved by the Dubrovnik government in 1335 and amended in 1370 and is considered one of the best planned and best structured cities in Europe. The walls of Stone were a massive architecture and construction feat. Originally 7000-meters long (22 965 ft.), they consist of several parts; the Stone city walls, the Mali Ston city walls and the Big wall with its three forts. Its forts and towers are strengthened by 10 round and 31 square flanking towers and 6 semi-circular bastions. It took almost four centuries to finish these complex defense walls, as the builders had to adapt to the rough terrain and advancements in warfare technology. The walls were last used for defense in the 19th century, and today they are a priceless monument of immense architectural and cultural value.
Mali Ston, Oyster & Mussel Farm & Sampling
After walking tour of Ston continue for short ride to Town of Mali Ston known as "oysters capital" of Croatia. You will see Oyster farms all around the area. About Lumbija
The name ‘lumbija’ comes from a love story between a French soldier and a local girl. When it came time for him to leave, he made her a cake and told her ‘N’oublie pas’ (‘Don’t forget me’), which sounded like ‘lumbija’ to her. Afterward, the recipe was passed down from generation-to-generation and is still a favourite dessert to this day.

Boat Ride to Peljesac Peninsula
Crossing the channel by motorboat, you reach the well-known seaside resort of Orebic from where your wine adventure begins. Peljesac peninsula is producing probably the best wines in Croatia. The best known are the red wines Dingac and Postup both of which you are able to taste in the three cellars to be visited.
Scenic Drive, Grgich Winery & Wine Tasting
Leaving the town of Orebic by modern air-conditioned motor coach your first visit will be at the famous cellar of the Mike Grgich, one of the most known wine cellars of this region. The Grgich Winery is in Trstenik, is housed in a plain stone building that was once a military station, then later a resort. It is surrounded by a wooded area that overlooks the rocky coast of the Adriatic. During a wine tasting, you'll have an opportunity to sample some of the famous red and white wines of the Peljesac Peninsula.
“Bezek” family winery
Your tour continues to Janjina Village where you will visit “Bezek” family winery. You again have the opportunity to taste some of the famous native Dalmatian grape varieties, Plavac Mali and Rukatac here.
Bartulovic Winery, Wine Tasting, Light Lunch & Local Entertainment
You final visit is made in the small village of Prizdrina where Bartulovic Family has its winery. Here, enjoy some local food specialties while being entertained by a group of local musicians performing local Dalmatian songs. This is a great way to end your tour with 'wine and song'.
At the conclusion of this visit, rejoin your coach for the return drive along the Peljesac peninsula to the Seaside Resort of Orebic to board a motor boat for the return transfer back to Korcula.
