Dali in Pubol & Begur Village
Classic - Included Excursion
Dauer: 4.0 Stunden
Code: PAL-F

Explore one of the most beautiful villages in Costa Brava and a medieval castle owned by Salvador Dalí during this picturesque, half-day sightseeing excursion.

Palamós, Pubol, Dalí's Castle

Depart the pier for the scenic, approximately 30-minute drive to Pubol. Salvador Dalí married Gala, his muse, in 1958. Their relationship was, at certain points, obsessive, and so it was reflected in Dalí's works, thoughts and actions. Gala deserved the universe for him, and Dalí put it at her feet. Dali considered it to be obligatory for a muse to have a special place to reside, and for that purpose he acquired and designed the Castle of Dalí in 1969. Dalí completely reinvented this old, medieval building, always under the watchful eye of Gala. During your visit, your guide explains the main Dalinian decorative elements in each space, and escorts you through the different rooms where Gala lived and Dali worked.

Empordà Region, Begur Village, Medieval Castle Ruins, Indies House, Defencive Towers

Next, re-board your coach and head to the heart of the Empordà region for a visit to Begur, one of the most beautiful villages in Costa Brava. Upon arrival, take a guided stroll through the village to discover one of the most famous images of Begur; the ruins of the medieval castle overlooking the town. Other places to be seen during your walk include several 'Indies' houses, built in the Colonial style by natives who emigrated to America in the 19th century and returned with a considerable fortune. In addition, see the 16th-century defensive towers built by the people of Begur to protect themselves against pirate attacks. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 30-minute drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 2.5 miles (about four kilometres) sometimes uphill, with a few steps to negotiate to get on/off the coach. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility and guests who utilise a wheelchair. Guests are advised to wear lightweight, comfortable clothing with flat, closed-toe walking shoes, and bring sun protection, a sweater or light jacket, and local currency for purchases from the ship. Guests must be at least 18 years old to be served alcoholic beverages. The tour sequence may vary.
