Hvanneyrarskál Hike
Depart on foot from the pier, following your local hiking guide on this spectacular hike, overlooking the fjord. The hike takes approximately 2 hours, covering around 5km and climbing approximately 150m above sea level. Enjoy excellent views over the town and across the fjord, while your guide will share information and stories about the area along the way. The climbing path goes through the "avalanche garden" trails, and is on a wide but rocky track.
Please note: This tour involves an extensive amount of walking for approximately 3miles (about 5 kilometres), over uneven, natural surfaces and steep inclines. This tour is recommended for active guests who are in good physical condition, and able to hike uphill. This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Guests are advised to wear warm, comfortable clothing in layers with non-slip hiking boots, and bring sun protection, bottled water, a weatherproof jacket. Siglufjörður, Bakkaflöt, Skagafjordur Fjord
Depart Siglufjörður for the scenic, approximately 1.75-hour drive headed to Bakkaflöt, located on the beautiful Skagafjordur Fjord. Upon arrival, proceed to the onsite boathouse, where your river-rafting adventure begins and ends. After meeting your guides, receive your rafting, safety, and tour instructions, and be outfitted with your rafting and safety gear. Included are helmets, life jackets, water boots, wetsuits, and dry tops.

Next, board a bus for the short drive to the West Glacial River. Upon arrival at the starting point and after a full safety briefing, you are divided into crews and assigned a raft and guide. Embark your assigned raft and begin your incredibly scenic and fun-filled river-rafting tour through the magnificent West Glacial Canyon. The Class 2-3 waters of the West Glacial River are ideal for guests who want to enjoy river-rafting that isn’t overly strenuous, or in treacherous waters, whilst enjoying some of Iceland’s breath-taking scenery.
High Canyon Walls, Amazing Geology, Hot Springs, Hot Cocoa, Cliff-Jumping
Once on the West Glacial River, enter the canyon with its high walls and amazing geology, and marvel at your exquisite natural surrounds. Along the way, a stop is made at one of the many geothermal hot springs to enjoy the steam, warm-up your fingers and toes, and relax as your rafting guide prepares some outbound-style hot cocoa right by the river. More adventurous guests may also opt to do some exhilarating cliff-jumping. Following your stop, continue rafting until reaching the take-out point, then board your awaiting bus for the short drive back to the base in Bakkaflöt.
Hot Tub Soak, Traditional Icelandic Meal
Upon arrival, shower-up and head to the hot tub for a relaxing soak in the soothing and invigorating geothermal waters. Afterward, proceed for a hearty and delicious meal consisting of traditional Icelandic meat soup and home-made bread. At the conclusion of your tour, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 1.5-hour drive back to the pier.

The largest maritime museum in Iceland, the Herring-Era Museum is one of the country's most esteemed museums. It has won the Luigi Micheletti Award, the European prize for innovative museums in the world of contemporary history, industry and science.
Salting Show
Upon arrival at the Herring-Era Museum, take in a Salting Show. The quiet is interrupted by calls of 'herring girls' for salt and a barrel, and the sound of an accordion playing. The 'herring girls' then continue to dance of their fatigue to the music, alluring the guests to join in. This enjoyable show goes a long way in recreating the atmosphere of the 'Herring Adventure', an era of great prosperity for this little town.

Following the Salting Show, take a guided walking tour of the three museum buildings, then proceed for a tasting of rye bread and herring accompanied by Brennivin (Icelandic schnapps). At the conclusion of your visit, commence the short, guided walk back to the pier.

Siglufjörður, Scenic Cruise, Troll Peninsula
Depart the pier for the short walk to your awaiting vessel, a traditional O¨rkin boat made of oak. Upon arrival, meet the captain, receive your safety and tour instructions, then enjoy a gentle, approximately 1.5-hour cruise highlighting the historical areas of Siglufjörður and its surrounds. On the northernmost shores of the Troll Peninsula, learn how the inhabitants have had to deal with unrelenting natural forces for centuries, and how the history of farming is a story of resilience, stubbornness, and fate. During your sailing excursion, hot beverages are served, and you are invited to try your hand at slide-fishing. In addition, look for the marine mammals that make their home along the country’s shores. Included are minke, killer, sperm, and sei whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbour porpoises, enormous humpback whales, and, occasionally, an enormous blue whale, the world’s largest mammal. Your tour concludes back at the O¨rkin boat dock. Upon arrival, disembark your vessel and commence the short walk back to the pier.

Seagull 67 Brewery
Walk to the Seagull 67 Brewery, located in a renovated old fish factory. Production of beer is not new in Iceland; it likely dates back to the island's settlement by Norsemen. For most of the 20th century, however, beer was effectively banned in Iceland. Since that ban was lifted in 1989, the nation's consumption of beer has increased markedly and new breweries have begun to emerge.
