Trois Rivières distillery

From Trois Islets you will drive to Trois Rivières distillery via main road and inland road for approx.. 30 minutes. You will visit small distillery, wellknown for ist traditional old AOC rhum. You will share with your guide passion of this traditional product, learning its historic and cultural aspect. You will enjoy the tasting discovering ist unique savor.

The distillery has received numerous howards during last Rhum and Spirituous conferences and the master cellar Daniel Baudin has been elected the best oft he world since the Miami rhum conference in september 2019.

Prisca Restaurant, Cooking Class, Tastings of Traditional Fritters and French-West Indian Aperitifs

Next, re-board your coach and continue on to the Prisca restaurant. Upon arrival, meet the restaurant's proprietor, Prisca Morjon, one of the finest chefs in Martinique. Next, Chef Prisca begins your engaging and informative cooking class. Learn about life in Martinique, and how to prepare traditional fritters utilising fresh seasonal produce. Chef Prisca also prepares various French-West Indian aperitifs. Following your cooking class, sample these freshly-made, traditional specialities and homemade cocktails. At the conclusion of your visit, re-board your coach and commence the approximately 35-minute drive back to the pier.

The Slaves savannah is situated at Trois Ilets village in South of Martinique. It is a reproduction of slaves village created by Gilbert Larose in order to pay homage to escaped slaves before their independence between 1850 and 1900. You will visit a little museum dedicated to the slaves’ history in Martinique, with an exhibition of statues carved in "mahogany wood" illustrating stage of live during this period.

You will discover hut replicas in wood, with roofs in leaves of sugar canes where slaves lived, an opportunity to deep in tradition of Martinique, learn about lifestyle of yesteryear. Depart the pier for the brief drive to the Balata Church. Built in 1925, the Balata Church is a mini-replica of the Sacred Heart Basilica of Montmartre in Paris, France. Perched above Fort de France, the church offers spectacular views and photo opportunities overlooking the capital city and its bay.

Volcanological Museum

Stop in Saint Pierre for a visit of the Volcanological Museum. St. Pierre is the most renowned locale in Martinique, albeit for tragic reasons. The town was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 1902 that killed 30,000 people, except for a prisoner who was being held in an underground dungeon at the time. Saint Pierre is now designated as France's 101st 'City of Art and History'.

Next, re-board your cabrio-bus and proceed for a visit to the DEPAZ rum distillery, with explanation about process of production of the famous Agricol rum of Martinique. During your visit, you are invited to sample rum produced at the distillery.

Following your visits, your tour concludes with a return drive to the pier by the same west coast road. En route, pass by Le Carbet, a charming fishing village where Christopher Columbus landed in 1502 and Paul Gauguin painted his most beautiful artwork. Your drive also passes by Schoelcher, a small village named for a famous 19th-century abolitionist who fought for the independence of slaves in the French West Indies.

In Martinique, the maritime area from Trois-Îlets to Anses-d'Arlet is well-knownfor housing turtles that are quite easy to meet.

Turtles remain wild marine animals, it is not 100% sure to be able to meet them, but the team on board knows where to see them.

You just have to trust them, put on your fins, mask and snorkel, and then you can at least get to know the most seen turtle in the island, the green turtle! Calm animal, it is very simple to approach it gently, and it even happens to be curious.
