Landausflüge in Vanimo
Vanimo is part of a small township with an economy based around the timber industry. Vanimo is the capital of Sandaun Province which is relatively undeveloped, with lovely beaches, crystal clear lagoons and picturesque villages.
As you land on the black sandy beach in front of the Vanimo Town we will then set off in local minivans and take a short drive along the West Coast Road to Lido Village where you will be welcomed by traditional dancers from Vanimo with their amazing display of cultures in traditional finery and singing and dancing to the beats of their drums, sound and colour is spectacular.
After spending time at the Lido Village we will then reboard our buses and drive back into Vanimo town and then take a scenic drive along the Dali Beach front then climb uphill to Towu Hill (Tower Hill) where a brief stop will be made for viewing of the Vanimo Harbour and the township.
Departing the Towu Hill we decent downhill into town and your last stop will be made at the local market where cultural artifacts, arts and souvenirs will be on display giving you an opportunity to purchase for yourself a souvenir before concluding your exploration.
Please note: Papua New Guinea is a very-low-income country with very basic infrastructure, and vastly different to the western culture mentality. Local conditions may be challenging; therefore, we urge flexibility and understanding as we visit unique and somewhat remote destinations. Coaches, guides, equipment, and services are the best-available in the area, but may not be up to the standards of those found on other excursions. Guests with limited mobility may be challenged at some sites; however, this tour does not include a lot of walking and guests may return to the waiting buses. We suggest guests to bring a mask as the roads are dusty and because the local buses are not equipped with the a/c, windows will be open.
